Shared Steps is a 6-week virtual support group created for first-time parents in New York who are looking for connection, understanding, and a safe place to process the emotional realities of new parenthood.

What Is Shared Steps?

The group offers a nonjudgmental, compassionate space to explore topics like:

  • Identity shifts after becoming a parent

  • Changes in relationships and partnership dynamics

  • Sleep deprivation and emotional exhaustion

  • Mood fluctuations and anxiety

  • Feeding stress and decision-making

Whether you’re struggling, adjusting, or simply craving connection, this group is here to walk beside you as you navigate new parenthood.

What to Expect Each Week

This 6-week virtual group meets weekly for 60-minute sessions. Each session includes:

  • A grounding mindfulness or body-centered meditation to begin

  • A weekly theme with a short educational component

  • Facilitated group sharing in response to a reflective prompt

  • A closing period for integration and shared reflection

You do not need to have experience with therapy or groups to benefit. Just bring your real self, exactly as you are.

Shared Steps is for first-time parents in New York, including all birthing people, non-birthing partners, and LGBTQIA+ parents who are in the first year postpartum. If you’re feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or simply in need of a space to be heard, you’re welcome here.
